Abstract

Spectrum utilisation is essential in communications due to power and bandwidth constraints. Here, we provide a QAM- based continuous phase frequency shift keying-based spectrum sensing method. In order to detect whether a user is present or not, a threshold is established. In the absence of the principal user, the H0 threshold is determined. When the principal user is present, the entropy of H1 falls below a certain threshold. Spectrum sensing employs the probability detection method.
