Abstract

Solid waste management is multi disciplinary field embracing waste collection, transfer, haulage, and disposal and its impact is wide. It is therefore important to take a broad view and not to consider disposal options within the narrow confines of a particular technology. The solid waste generated in the campus is about 1.4 tons per week which includes mainly paper wastes, food wastes, garden wastes etc. The generated wastes are collected in the plastic drums kept in each and every part of the buildings. The wastes from each and every building were weighed before the segregation process
